Removing the engine or transmission is not a job for the fainthearted!

Although most jobs on the tank are awkward, it takes only about an hour and a half to take out the engine. This has to be done to change the 14 spark plugs (2 per cylinder) as access to the lower cylinders is impossible en situ. Most jobs require a couple competant mechanics and some willing helpers, a crane and lots of patience. Current work being done  includes major work on the transmission and steering brakes, re-fitting the turret basket and interior systems. having all the technical manuals is essential.

Manuals for all WWII and modern military vehicles can be obtained from Chris Evans Books- either original or reprints.
